Comments from some who memorize Scripture by chapter and by book!

I attended a Sword of the Spirit workshop last spring and just had to write to tell you that it has changed my life! I was spellbound to hear whole chapters and even books quoted from memory. I thought "maybe I could do that too!!!" I have to tell you that I have taken off, running and am being so very blessed! My main time to memorize is on my daily walks. It's so neat because I can just feel the Word sinking deep into my very heart and becoming alive! I have done John 15, Isaiah 53 and am starting Romans 8. Thank you so very much. I will be forever grateful.

Memorizing Scripture in its full context has changed my life. Everything has changed. My prayer life has improved. It's rejuvenating my love for the Lord. I just can't believe how it's getting me excited about God again. It's like taking vitamins. You eat Scripture and it gives life to your bones.

In the exercise of growing in the knowledge of God and the understanding of His Word, I find that the time I spend memorizing and reviewing Scripture is, for me, the most valuable study time of all. As a retired pastor I would encourage anyone who teaches the Word of God to take time to memorize whole chapters and books.

Committing God's Word to my heart by chapter has been my most profound and productive discipline in seeking the Lord. It has given me the knowledge and understanding needed to make consistent progress in transforming my thought life and behavior in accordance with Scripture and God's will.

Memorizing Scripture in its full context has proven to be a life-changing experience.

I just wanted to write you a note to say thank you for sending me some chapters from your book. I was really motivated and encouraged to start memorizing Scripture. I have memorized Psalm 23, Isaiah 53 and am working on Isaiah 54. What a joy it has been to do this and I was so convinced that I couldn't. I want to start on parts of the New Testament as the Lord lays them on my heart. I'm so excited and have been encouraging others to try it.

When I began memorizing Scripture by chapter and book in response to an S.O.S. challenge, I realized that this was the only meaningful way that I had ever studied my Bible or spent time with my Lord. Hiding the Word in my heart gives me "heart" knowledge. Things I knew in my head before, I now know in my spirit.

I listened to you on TV a few weeks ago regarding memorizing Scripture and want to thank you for blessing my life. Every morning early I go walking for an hour. Since hearing you on TV I have started memorizing Scripture during that time. I have learned Psalm 121 and the first 12 verses of Ephesians 1. It is just like you said, the Scriptures have really been opening up to me more and more. Learning Scripture by chapter and book has begun a blessing for a lifetime. I have memorized Chapters 5,6 and 7 of Matthew, and God is opening little doors of deep understanding.
